Uttar Pradesh (UP) Government has decided to form a new force Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (SISF) also known as SISF (other states) which is a similar force on the pattern of CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) to protect important Government Institutions, Buildings, Metro Stations, Court Rooms, Educational Buildings, etc. Even the Private Industry Units will be able to take the services of UPSSF by paying appropriate fees for their Services.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath announced the formation of this force on 26 June after the cabinet approval. This force came up after the orders of Allahabad of High Court which expressed displeasure over the security arrangement in the civil courts by the UP Police. There were several incidents of firing in the Court Room in Uttar Pradesh and Allahabad High Court found UP Police incompetent to handle such a situation.
Briefing reporters in Lucknow, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi said, “The state government has given orders for the constitution of a special security force. A roadmap in this regard has been sought from the UP DGP. This is a dream project of the UP chief minister. The basis of this force is an order of the high court, which had ordered that there should be a specialised force for civil courts. In all, there will be 9,919 personnel in the force.”
There will be Five batallion will be prepared in the first phase which will cost around 1747 Crores.UPSSF will have its headquarter in the Lucknow and will be headed by the ADG level officer.
UP govt’s UPSSF can arrest any person without a warranthttps://t.co/fX5C3D05bQ pic.twitter.com/uTxtDZ6AYy— HT Lucknow (@htlucknow) September 14, 2020
A lot of people on Twitter and also National Television News Channel NDTV is providing misleading headline to their tweets just like the above to raise their concern on the special powers to arrest the person and also search the house without the need of warrant from the magistrate. I think these people are unnecessary raising the issue as this force will not roam around the city and harass the people.
This is a specially designed force like CISF which will safeguard the important landmark buildings such as a courtroom, educational institutions, industrial units, administrative buildings, etc. from terrorists, lawbreaking gangsters, murderers, etc. and if someone is found suspect they will be able to proceed with their inspection without any Government Department Intervention.
One of the other purposes behind the formation of UPSSF is to bring law and order in the state and also maintain an environment of peace and harmony in the state. UP Government want to promote MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) development in the state in order to overcome the problem of unemployment in the state.
Due to the bad law and order situation in the state, a lot of industrialists hesitate to start their venture in the state but now the situation is changing. UP CM Yogi Adityanath is trying very hard to ease the process of approval to start any industry and also working to provide a good prosperous atmosphere where everyone is safe and secure. The formation of UPSSF is a step toward establishing the faith in Government by providing world-class Industrial security to the Government and Private Institution.
